Australia's batting collapse on day two of the third Ashes Test was "pathetic" and "embarrassing", says former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott.
"They are novices at playing the moving ball," Boycott said on BBC Test Match Special. "It was an embarrassing day for Australia.
"Their batting was as pathetic as it was in the first innings."
Boycott said Australia captain Michael Clarke is "under the cosh" and "lucky to be averaging 18".
Clarke was caught at slip off Steven Finn for three and has just 94 runs in six innings in this series.

To be fair to Boycott, he is an equal opportunist. He loves a good moan. For example, his comments regarding England's dismal performance at Lord's:

This guy just talks for the sake of talking because he is in no position to call people pathetic. He just loves the attention that the media gives him and his nonsensical views.

He doesn't talk for the sake of talking, he is paid to commentate on the game, both in print and on the radio. It's his job. You really don't half talk a load of nonsense. What exactly was it that he said that you found to be nonsensical? Do you really think Australia put up a good performance at Edgbaston? Or are you just disagreeing because you don't like him or any other Englishman. What a numpty.

I really do not think that Australia were 'pathetic' (to quote Mr. Boycott), but its true that the Australian batsmen showed a lack of application over the course of the test match. They caved in to the English bowlers very easily and were not able to post good strong partnerships which led to their downfall.

Just shut up Girlcott!
Aus were way too overconfident after demolishing Eng at Lords, they thought they could just show up and beat the Poms at Egbaston. Never underestimate your opponent in any given match, we need to refocus and play smarter
