“We are a little concerned about Woody,†said the England captain on Tuesday. “If he is out then with the [weather] forecast, probably Steven Finn will be pushing to play. Wood has played a huge amount of cricket over the last six to eight months so we have to be careful with him. Finn has bowled really well for Middlesex and in the one-dayers recently; whoever gets the call will be the lucky one.â€

Unfortunately, Wood's health is a major concern and what could stand in the way of a very good Test career. I like him a lot. He bowls with real pace, bowls a good line and length, and not afraid to try something different.
So far in his career, he has been unable to play back-to-back matches. This is a real problem in today's Test cricket with so many matches played in such a short period of time. He is a maximum effort guy and puts a lot of strain on his body. With Anderson and Broad not getting any younger, they really need Wood to stay on the field.

Wood has a continuing left ankle problem. In the meanwhile has finn after struggling to remodel his action..done it ?? He had lost faith in the shortened run-up he had adopted earlier that year.

The Independent
reports this morning that Finn will indeed start in place of Wood. This is a big blow for England. I really like the extra pace of Wood. He gives the bowling attack some variety.
Personally, I think there is a big drop off between Finn and Wood. Finn, although he has shown signs of improvement over the last 6 months, still is nowhere near his form of old. The likes of Harry Gurney, Tim Bresnan, Jack Brooks, Chris Rushworth and Graham Onions all have better numbers in county cricket this year.

He wasn't bad,he did pick a couple of wickets of dangermen smith and clarke.I would say its a good start because he at times husted them for space and in fact pin point bowling.
Good comeback. He should improve from here.
