Indian Cements Ltd (ICL), owner of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is planning to move the Supreme Court against the order of the Lodha Committee that banned them from taking part in the IPL for two years. The Supreme Court appointed committee made the decision in accordance with the rules that stated that a franchise can even be terminated if a team owner was found guilty of betting or related activities.
Accordingly, Gurunath Meiyappan was banned from all cricket related activities and as a consequence, CSK got a ban for two years. According to a PTI report, top officials of India Cements held discussions over the verdict and have decided to approach the Supreme Court again.
The Lodha Committee decided on the quantum of punishment after investigations by the Mudgal Committee. Both were appointed by the Supreme Court of India and while India Cements look for relief, Justice Mukul Mudgal felt that it will be of little use.
"If you read the Supreme Court's order, in the last line says, this will be subject to any remedy in accordance with law. So challenge is available, the question is, when a committee comprising a former Chief Justice and two former Supreme Court judges gives a report, it is highly unlikely that a court will interfere in that verdict. I can't rule it out. Theoretically it is possible," he said.

Well if they import Justice Ramlal from Guyana to hear the appeal, they may just get it over turned. ::LOL::
