55.1
Hazlewood to Root, FOUR, full and wide, and that's a superb way to bring up a superb hundred
Celebrates by punching the air, taking his helmet off, and embracing Stokes.
England's balcony is up on its feet, and so is pretty much everyone in the crowd.

That is an excellent counter-attacking innings from Joe Root - he's been lucky at times but he’s made Australia pay.

They're simply chanting "Rooooooot" ::LOL::
56.5 Johnson to Stokes, FOUR, length ball, Stokes plants his front foot halfway forward and slashes away
56.1 Johnson to Stokes, SIX, bouncer, and Stokes hooks Johnson for six.

Having Starc & Johnson in the same attack will mean runs will flow, but there’s no better way to stem the runs than wickets

Once Ballance got out,the balance shifted back to Australia.
I would say they now have it even.
312/6 in 79 Overs.Shd England pile up another 120-150,they will hold the upper hand and can whip Aus from the top..
Who do u guys wager on,?/ though its too early.

Excellent day of cricket. The wicket of Buttler at the end evened out the day. I think both teams will be marginally satisfied. At 43/3, England will be thrilled to get to 343/7 at the close of play. Although the ball has swung, the pitch is flat and slow. I think 350 on this wicket is par score at best.
Joe Root once again comes to England's rescue. The biggest compliment I can pay him is that he always looks like he is batting on a different wicket to everyone else. He just scores runs so easily. I hope his back holds up.
Another disappointment from Bell. With Bairstow breathing down his neck, his time is surely running out.
I thought Hazelwood was the pick of the bowlers for Australia. Brilliant line and length and was able to extract bounce out of the pitch. Lyon also bowled very tightly.
Edited to add: Great atmosphere from a packed crowd, too. Although I am sure Timmyj will be along shortly to argue that Test cricket is deader than disco.
