Lloyd lambasts the lack of a ‘Thinking’ West Indies -‘We have constantly been outthought’
July 4, 2015

Former West Indies Captain and current Chairman of Selectors Clive Lloyd has taken a swipe at cricketers across the region, noting that the mental side of their game is not up to the standard of their opponents. Speaking during a recent ceremony, Lloyd noted that the current hit and miss status that the West Indies Cricket Team has incurred is based on the fact that there is a lack on the mental side of the game. “We’ve lost games over the last 15 or 20 years because of the superior thinking of the opposition.

We haven’t really outthought the people that we were playing against. It’s not that we don’t have ability; we have some of the best players around but it’s just that they don’t think like the other people.” The controversial chairman of selectors who over the past 6 months has been the center of attention for the dropping of Guyanese Shivnarine Chanderpaul from the test side, reminded that cricket is a thinking man’s game and those who fail to remember this will always pay the price. The West Indies have won just one match in the last three test series.

In the process however, they lost the Frank Worrell Trophy 2-0 to Australia earlier this year but drew the Wisden Trophy against England after they drew the first game, lost the second and won the third. They had a disastrous time when they toured South Africa before the World Cup as they lost the Sir Vivian Richards Trophy 2-0. Lloyd has been moving steadily toward building the West Indies team from the Ground up, often saying that giving the youth much needed exposure is one way that the regional side can begin its assent to the top of the longest format of the Game.

LLoyd is a skunt pleading for a knighthood.  that is what he is crying out for in that lament..a cry for a high honour before he leaves this mortal coil as deh say.

blaming the victim and not the perps for their victimisation.

it is the perfect plea the rich and powerful recognize and blesse with high honour..the traitor in perfect attack upon the victims.

" who and what made/makes the west indian people stupid Lloydie..or were we, and are we born stupid, a product of our reality as nig nogs etc ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::"

Dumb skunt Clive Lloyd!  why don't they give that skunt a peerage and save us from his ceaseless pleading... send him to england, his pyschological and emotional home, to while away his time telling boring, dotish, avuncular stories with no sense and point, in the house of Lords.

that's the perfect solution to the Lloyd problem in the west indies.  give him something to do like that, which is what he wants... and send the useless skunt off

from whence does superior thinking come Lloydie ::confused::

why do the Oz for example produce people like Wallace Thornhill ::confused::

take a good look at the OZ right here:
www.youtube.com/results?search_query=australian+mathematicians

where do we see equal activity taking place in the west indies Lloydie  ::confused::

Oz continues to grow as we speak. nothing commensurate takes place in the west indies.  that is why they produce people of superior mentality than the west indies Lloydie..because their society deals at the highests levels of world activities... and we in the west indies relatively speaking hew wood and tote wartuh as our daily routine

the white power in the world has taken care to allow full development of Australians..while shutting down such development in the west indies.  the only economy we have is branch plant economy..nothing that we control and develop to its highest potential in our own image and likeness

what kind of science do we have..some kind of mid-level tropical agriculture..noting we are allowed to use to develop west indian food production to the cutting edge of world agricultural science. the white world is splicing genes and creating new forms of plant life.  we still budding and grafting in the west indies.

in the formerly colonial world, Indians are doing high levels of work and are far in advance of the west indies. and Indians demonstrate the routine social confidence this achievement brings for the Indian people.
Indians have split the Atom and make nuclear weaponry, build their own airplanes and ocean going vessels etc. west indians are still a branch plant people, trained to be dependent uncle toms... all who blast, pull down and destroy all of their own...fight  all who are against this totally egregious way of life and try to lead in an independent way for the region, that would lift us up out of hewing wood and drawing water as a way of life

that state of affairs can be seen openly right on this board here as Ketchim/AFRO, a major poster,  fights all progressive argument with determination to the death, if not with skill and good sense.

there is nothing that Ketchim and most here say that would lead to full west indian independence and development of the region and the people of the region.  and without that, all we have and will have are the stupid backward people and cricket players we now have who cannot compete with Indians and Oz and Saffies etc., on any level at all..on the field and off it.

that is what the development of the past fifty years has produced..failed states in the west indies/developing states elsewhere in the cricket world that has reduced the west indies to the last or bottom of the cricket world.
such developing disparity has really kicked in over the recent 20 years..or last 20 years... ably assisted by the bureaucratization of the cricket administration. nuff said about the parasitic bureau that now cannibalizes west indies cricket.

as in cricket so too in the social life as the government bureau in every country in the region does the same with the regional society as a whole.
west indian education such as it is is a calculated process to produced the idiots we see everywhere, most prominently in the cricket side as representative of the region.  west indian cricketers are the most perfect representatives of the west indian nation as it has become

so at least skunt Lloydie is right in the backward quality of current west indian players..and he knows why too but I wager he does not care about that.  all he is looking for is I suspect some high award to crown his career/his life..so he uses the results of the victimization of the west indies..the stupid people that victimization has produced..to attack those people publicly for he knows that this hides effectively the work of the perps, while throwing blame back on the victims themselves.  he will get big rewards from the perps for that

yes... there are west indians in there who must be blamed as well for the current state of the west indies. but who are they ::confused::

they are people like LLoyd himself who know better but does not address the problem from the angle of social change to produce the desired development to produce the quality of people we need...but from the angle of their own personal ambitions.  the west indian people be dammed.

that is how they all are... the west indian elites.  they have sold out completely.  that is the quality of  people the social system in the west indies allows to rise to the top, to lead the west indies..the worst social element we have.  and they in turn attack all that is progressive in the region, entrenching the example that only UncleToms can rise.  no one else need apply

so when Lloyd attacks the quality of the current west indian that is what produced them. and he knows that the society we have can produce only that..what we have right now..that it is set up to produce a**holes, not top class people like the Oz do all the time.  so from start to finish Lloyd is disingenuous, exploiting the situation to further his own ambitions

LLoyd is a joke! >:( >:( >:( >:(

I have been saying this for years now that the biggest problem facing the West Indies players is their inability to think because cricket is a hugely mental game and a lot of the player that we have can't seem to think and or very weak mentally.

what will dawn on me....

look here..I used to do business with Titty for years..up to 1989......I represented big Titty business up the islands

after that into the mid nineties I used to be there in the region every year.

I lived in antigua for 5 years 1984 to 89 after which I returned to Canada..

so what the hell you talking about 50 years absence

I know a lot of change has taken place I am not privy...cant be privy to unless I am there.  I can see external change from afar but I know the basic principles to it all, and from that I know what the basic principles disburses or ramifies into in the society as a whole.

I can see west indian players and their inability to simple natural self interested things like go to the wicket and ant to stay forever and do all that is necessary to achieve that aim or goal.  how in the hell does that happen so widespread as to produce  all young batsmen like that, bowlers like Cottrell, Gabriel etc who cant discipline themselves into sharp focus as players::confused::

here's an alternative!  the Jamaica athletic association and the magic they produce all the time by being entirely independent and self reliant based on a strong nationalism.  that has legs to develop and become a basis of national liberation

I see west indians all over the place and they are today as they always were.  in fact currently I find them to be more stupid than they ever were

lissen ketchim.  I dare you to go the west indies, traverse every island and find me 25 youth who know who the 3 Ws and Sobers were.,  Hall and Griff etc  I wud pay you for that..all your expenses and so on

what am supposed to not know then ::confused:: has the basic exploitative relationship between the west indies and their forrin masters changed..is the region now an independent region fully, no one pulling their strings..can UWI for example develop a fully positive west indian oriented curriculum and toss the euro centric claptrap irrelevant sh!t their humanities consists of..can the university focus on its real job now..interaction with the region to produce intellects capable of addressing west indian problems form a nationalist point of view

that is what wud produce sportsmen with the organized perspective and view that would make them go out and do things in ways entirely consistent with common sense and skill based on that..

so what the hell am I missing then ketchim..and if so why cant you use a keyboard to fill in the spaces of what I just said ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
