The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council is set to discuss an alternative to the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) in a meeting, likely to be held in Delhi, on July 8, according to a report in ESPNcricinfo.
CLT20 has still not officially been put to rest but the BCCI, Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board, who govern the CLT20, have signed an exit clause with the broadcaster of the tournament. A BCCI insider told ESPNCricinfo that "it is a given that CLT20 is history and it's time to look ahead".

If it is actually scrapped, the BCCI is understood to have a plan in place to fill the three-week window with a mini-version of the IPL, with its inaugural season to be played as early as this September in the UAE.

The thought of a mini ipl league doesn't interest me in the least possible way. They need to have a tournament with teams from all over the world because I will not tune in to watch a mini ipl after already watching the ipl season.

IPL itself is a real bore these days, why do they even want this ??
Didn't they make enough money with this ?
The older seasons at least evoked interest, the last couple of seasons were a real pain to even watch.
No need of mini IPL

Thest thing for BCCI :
is allow India players to be exposed to odda T20 tourneys 1
CPL is doing well :
Afridi, the Akmal boys , Shezad and even Misbah replacing Shoaib Malik : are better off for it !
