The turn around has been simply incredible. The new, young faces have brought with them a fresh mentality. The team is aggressive and plays with no fear. They have played outstanding cricket this entire series and gone toe-to-toe with New Zealand. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect a turn around of this magnitude so quickly. They have scored 300+ in all four matches topped off by this record breaking run-chase.
I was highly critical of the team and selectors in the run up to the World Cup and the World Cup itself. England's mindset was stuck in the 1990s where 250 was a par score. It is a shame that England wasted a World Cup, they come around just once every four years, but at least something positive has come out of this.
New England, as Bumble now calls them, are fun to watch. They have players up and down the lineup that can win matches all by themselves. Moving Root up to three and Morgan to four combined with Hales and Roy opening the batting and having a middle order featuring the likes of Stokes, Buttler and Billings mean England can finally join the rest of world cricket in the 21st century.
