Peter Siddle hasn’t ruled out a return to Lancashire before the end of the season.
The fast bowler is playing his final match for Lancashire before joining up with the Australian Test squad for their series against the West Indies and this summer’s Ashes.
Fellow Aussie James Faulkner will replace him, but not for around two weeks until his IPL commitments are over. But he will link up with the Australian one-day squad for their series against England at the end of August, leaving Lancashire without an overseas player.
But Siddle could then become available to return for what could be three crucial matches as they look to secure promotion back up to Division One of the LV= County Championship.
“I could come back,†he told M.E.N. Sport. “We finish the Asges at the end of August and then I have an Australian summer back home to get ready for, but I will just play it by ear and check out my options.
“You never say never.â€
