London: Former England captain Andrew Strauss has been chosen as the country's director of cricket, a newly created role that will see him responsible for the long-term strategy of the ailing national team.
The England and Wales Cricket Board announced the move on Saturday, saying Strauss "is an authoritative voice on the modern game and has a wealth of experience building successful teams."
British media are reporting that England head coach Peter Moores will lose his job amid the overhaul of the national team's coaching and management structure.
The ECB statement said the "England head coach will report directly to" Strauss but didn't mention Moores by name.
The director of cricket position was created after the ECB fired managing director Paul Downton last month following England's dismal Cricket World Cup campaign.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
