Jonathan Trott says Joe Root makes cricket “look relatively easy†after his unbeaten century against West Indies in the second Test. The Yorkshireman was in sensational form in Grenada as the 24-year-old smashed 13 fours and cleared the boundary twice to end the day on 118 not out.
The century has helped put England in a strong position against the West Indies as they head into the fourth day, with the Three Lions currently leading by 74 runs with four wickets remaining.
Captain Alastair Cook (76) and Trott (59) provided a solid, if not unspectacular, start to the innings, while Gary Ballance also chipped in with a good knock of 77.
It was Root who stole the show, though, and the batsman is now averaging 103.7 since he was recalled to the side after being dropped for the fifth Ashes Test in Sydney back in January 2014.
Trott, who also returned to the senior set-up after a long absence for this Tour, says the Yorkshireman is fantastic to have around the place and is a brilliant cricketer.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
