"Cricket in the Caribbean is in desperate trouble," Holding told Press Association Sport.

"The board are muddling from one fiasco to another and now we have the Indian fiasco hanging over their heads. It's not surprising that the players have no respect for their employers and as a result they are showing them no commitment.

"Against England, with so many players out of the team, they do not have a ghost of a chance. That's the honest truth."

Chanderpaul suffered the injury while playing a shot in the nets on Tuesday. Serena	This batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.
