England have embarrassed themselves big time

Out of the top eight Test playing nations, only England did not qualify for the quarter finals, It has nothing to do with players in the county game, it is picking the right players and if they fail, don't drop them, most players will score big knowing they are trusted and will not be dropped after a couple of low scores.

Bring in franchise cricket, this is a must, bring top international players in limited over cricket, change the coaches, Moores and the rest of them, might be great in the county game, but at international level, They ain't got it.

When picking bowlers, forget about speed, but effectiveness in the format they are good at instead of MPH, same with batters, regardless of age and county.

England have embarrassed themselves big time, same old "queensbury rules" cricket.

It is sad to see how all the other countries have overtaken England to such an extent in this World Cup.

Last point, forget stats on "this or that", when batting, block the good ball, try to hit the bad balls for six, not a single.

If I was a selector, half this side wouldn't play for England again, this includes big names!

One of the English problems, as I see it, is what I can only describe as snobbery.

I can well recall when coloured clothing was first used the English disparagingly referred to it as "pajama" cricket.

The same goes for T20 with the English turning up their noses at it and half heartedly having some T20 championship in England.

This world cup has shown the English that they are way behind the likes of Australia, India and New Zealand when it comes to ODIs and T20. England (conveniently forget) that they were T20 world champions on the back of KP, one of the few "English" players who understands the requirements of ODIs and T20s.

The ECB will be working damn hard over the next 4 years to try and ensure that England do not exit at the group stage in 2019.

Out with Broad and Ballance. One is an underperforming 'senior player ' , the other is very much a test match batsman. Will England ever do an Australia and promote a T20 batsman to their test side, like David Warner did. Doubt it...too conservative just like every other sport they  invented

England only now realize the "value" of T20 cricket.

I am waiting to see how they revamp their T20.

Whether KP returns or not, a complete overhaul of the ECB heirachy and coaching set up at all levels is required and will be very welcome. It is ok suggesting changing the coach, the captain or bring back players but it's the whole structure behind that is the problem.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. While we can all have our complaints about the performances by certain players, the bigger problem, to me, anyway, is the hierarchy. Sadly, it looks as though Moores is going to keep his job.

There also needs to be a real shift in the mindset of the selectors. England are stuck in the 90's where 250 was a competitive total. Look at the way the best teams go about chasing down these types of targets, they come out very aggressive and look to get it over with as quickly as possible - New Zealand are the perfect example of this. What made this World Cup even more depressing for me is that England weren't even fun to watch. They were very dour and lifeless. No excitement. No energy. And most worryingly, no hope.

This is a complete waste of time - KP will not play for England. The next year consists of 17 test matches - England have plenty of batsmen such as Lyth, Trott and possibly Vince and Taylor to include in the squad and build a team for the future (also Cook returns which is very welcome). What England actually need is good quality, international standard bowlers - and KP does not fit that criteria. Better let him show why he should be consigned to the past by letting him play county cricket and fail, while England start rebuilding the team around the future generations.

All great points. England have a good solid nucleus of young batsman, both in the current squad and those on the fringe and the horizon. Root, Buttler, Taylor, Roy, Moeen, Hales, Vince, Lees and Billings is a great foundation for the future of the ODI team. The real problem is the bowling. Mark Wood doesn't fill me with the warm and fuzzies, Jack Brooks will be 31 this year and Harry Gurney has yet to impress in his limited opportunities at the international level. Plunkett, Bresnan and Rankin are good county bowlers though I am not so sure they are good enough for the very top level of international ODIs. The only two that fill me with some hope are Matt Dunn and Craig Overton.

WarrenJameis Winston is asked about being named QB3 on the Giants' roster behind Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart:

"As a competitor, you want to be the starter. But I prepare to be the starter, I know I'm a starter in this league.

But you have to be able to be grateful for your role...my role right now is to assist Russ and Jaxson to be the best that they can be while preparing to be the best that I can be.

No matter if I'm 3, 33, this is my first year being number 19, so it's always a first for everything.

I focus on what I would love. And what I would love is for this team to have success."
