The door has been opened to a possible England return for Kevin Pietersen by the incoming England & Wales Cricket Board chairman Colin Graves.
Graves has said Pietersen must play regular county cricket if he wants to play international cricket again and that the selectors should then judge him on form saying “the past is in the past.â€
Pietersen was sacked by England in January last year and published a scathing account of his relationship with former coach Andy Flower and certain other team-mates.
“It is very simple. What happened in the past is history and there is no point talking about it,†Graves told Telegraph Sport. “I was deputy chairman when the decision was made [to sack Pietersen] and I supported it so there is no point pulling that to bits. But if he wants to play for England then he has to play for a county. That is his decision.
“If he does that and then comes out and scores a lot of runs they can’t ignore him I would have thought but that is up to him. You can’t pick someone when he is not playing.â€
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Well it is good to see that this new ECB chairman is willing to put the past behind him. If I were Pietersen though, I would not play for England again because of all the disrespect and criticisms he has gone through.

The Pietersen scenario was well and absolutely messed up up a long time ago now. No use crying over spilled milk. Then Cook was kicked for a far more out-of- form batsman and novice captain. England cricket has to learn from the competitive intensity of football. Anderson, Broad, and Finn are no longer intimidating bowlers. Find replacements and also develop a lot more variety inside the bowling attack. For what's left of the World Cup, changing Ballance and Morgan with Hales and Bopara appears like a no-brainer. Also replacing Finn with Jordan will be a good move. Bell should come one- down, Ali needs to be told not to casually throw his wicket away many times, Anderson needs to return to bowling fuller lengths for swing.

lunatic england selection. makes me feel real good dat!
Morgan shud not be on the side far less is captain. that is perfect english idiocy.
why isnt Jordan on that side ::confused:: Jordan seems a perfect fit for ODI/T20
where is Michael Carberry..another seeming perfect ODI fit ::confused::
Moen Ali is not an opener...far, far, from it. he is perfect for the middle order..and 10 good overs. to open with ALI surely disrupts his chemistry and likely eliminates him as an effective all round contributor.
same with Ian Bell
overall england is as stupidly managed a side as the west indie. jackass west indies have company in an equally jackass england cricket
