In recent days we’ve seen irrefutable evidence as to why reducing the amount of participants in the next instalment of the World Cup is a stupid, selfish, money driven decision which there is absolutely no doubt will be a detriment to the game as a whole.

[color=rgb(70, 70, 70)]Sorry don’t agree cricket aspires to be a bigger player on the world stage that’s why they have a World Cup on the first place. However the makeup of the tournament needs to be appealing for spectators, but most of all TV viewing which brings in the big bucks. At the moment cricket is propped up heavily by the fanatical support it gets from India . Cricket is seen tidally a commonwealth game brought to the colonies by England. Unlike other games cricket hasn’t grown beyond that. To have minnow nations which don’t even have domestic competitions is a nonsense and the sporting public is now better informed than ever before . A World Cup needs to showcase the very best of the sport . If you want minnow nations to compete establish a tournament for them on a regular basis.
