The offence happened in the first innings when Bravo used an audible obscenity whilst batting.
West Indies batsman Darren Bravo has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International matchâ€, during his side’s 150 runs victory over Pakistan in a Pool B match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Christchurch on Saturday.
The offence happened in the first innings when Bravo used an audible obscenity whilst batting.
Bravo admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.
All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
