AUSTRALIA is charging towards a return to the MCG for the World Cup final, but Shane Watson faces a steep fight to be there.
The selection debate took a new twist amid Saturday night’s decimation of England, with the pending returns of Michael Clarke and later James Faulkner placing Watson’s position in serious jeopardy.
George Bailey is supposed to be making way for Australia’s skipper next week, but he produced an old-fashioned captain’s knock that put Watson squarely in the firing line ahead of Clarke’s comeback against Bangladesh in Brisbane.
If there wasn’t enough pressure on Watson from that front, Mitchell Marsh’s stunning five-wicket haul only doubled the dose.

I just don't know what's going on with Watto ...... he seems to be trying too hard to do well and doing himself more harm than good

His batting's been downhill for over a year now, God only knows why he hasn't been dropped as yet

I really like Watto ..... the selectors have stuck with him perhaps for his contribution with the ball, but I suspect that now Bailey seems to be coming into form they might drop him ...
