That answer is exactly what Captains have been saying for the past 20 years so I do not see anything different or perfect in this response!
Lloyd was trying to get awat from all these allrounders (in his justification for dropping Bravo and Pollard) and end up with Sammy, Russel, Holder and probably Smith.
He cites average when Smith averages 18 or thereabouts in 95 ODIs! Why not give Charles a chance or someone else. I suppose this rule does not apply to him.
Russell looks to me as the most vacant cricketer around!
Carter looks all at sea and what on earth was Gayle doing?

Dwayne Smith should never play for WI again. Drop him forever. His good domestic run over the past 12 months did not translate to his four games back in WI colors. He and Devon Smith keep tricking us.
Let Lendl Simmons open in ODIs and T20s with Gayle, or try someone else.

My point is about consistency in application of the criteria set out.
1. Mid 20s average
2. Too many allrounders
3. West Indies first
4. Long runs
etccc....
By all means make changes but do not tell lies!
Lloyd really needs to retire from the scene gracefully!

I have lost all respect for selector Clive Lloyd, for omitting D Bravo and K Pollard from the ODI squad, I can finally tell you Mr Lloyd that it is vindictiveness to play a no good Leon Johnson infront of those two guys, I would play Colis King in front of Johnson right now at the age of 63 he's still scoring hundreds at the senior level in England. This vindictiveness is going to hurt the WI in the WC
