Taylor comes in for Cook. Hales moves up to open the batting with Moeen. England win the toss and opt to bat.
Hales out for a duck. England 9/1 (4 ov).
Nick Knight chimes in with a nice stat: The entire England XI has played a total of 444 ODI's. Jayawardene has played a total of 431 ODI's by himself.

Dilshan is brought into the attack and immediately takes the prize wicket of Moeen Ali. Ugly shot for a man that looked in really good form. Taylor is looking really nervy in the middle.
England 29/2 (7.2 ov).

Taylor given out LBW but immediately calls for a replay and the decision is correctly overturned as replays show a clear under edge.
Sri Lanka have been incredible in the field.
England 76/2 (19 ov). Taylor 35*

50 for Taylor and 100 for England. Root and Taylor have done a really good job of rotating the strike.
England 106/2 (22 ov).

Taylor out for 90. After a nervy start, Taylor played himself in and really anchored England's innings as he rotated the strike well with both Root and Ravi.
England 171/4 (35 ov).
And Ravi's bowled next over. Not a good start to the batting power play.
173/5 (35.3 ov).

Morgan bludgeons 18 from the last over as England are all out for 265. Morgan finally found some runs as he finished with 62 from 47 deliveries.
England lost their last 7 wickets too cheaply and look to be 30 runs light. It will take an inspired bowling perfromance to defend 265.

Give credit to England's bowlers to making it a close finish. I don't think the drop of Mathews would have changed the outcome at the end but would have been nice to have found out. England were undone in the power play. Not reaching 300 from the position they were in was criminal.
I take two positives out of the game, Taylor, after an edgy start, looked impressive. I'd like to see what he can do batting 3rd going forward. Secondly, it was good to see Morgan score some runs.
