He said it correctly, England really has no chance at all. I think India, Australia and South Africa are the stronger contenders. But you can never rule out Pakistan.

We are currently ranked 5th, only 2 points behind SL, so it is not unreasonable to expect us to get to the Semis.
However, we have not won a series against any notable opposition for some time so it is not unreasonable to conclude we do not stand a chance!
Not just out of loyalty but given the players we have and the occasion, I will not write us off.
Moeen, Hales, Buttler, Morgan etc
Come on you England!!!!

It will be interesting to see whether England use Mooen as a full time spinner or they opt to go with Tredwell. If they think a combination of Ravi and Mooen can give them 10 overs then they can go with a much deeper batting lineup.
Finn is a real wild card and I'm not sold on Gurney or Woakes.
I'd go with Broad, Jimmy, Stokes, Jordan, Mooen/Ravi.
I am on the fence with Jordan. I'd probably prefer to go with Tredders as I think he would do a better job of keeping the runs down but don't think England will play two spinners.

Dilly,
Not sure about Jimmy in the ODI setup but I think we have quite a few options.
Broad, Finn, Stokes, Jordan, Moeen, Treadwell.
I think Jordan has done well enough to be in the squad but I am not a fan of his action. He is also no mug with the bat.
I am just thinking about the Australian pitches and who would be best suited

And I would not do that in NZ and Oz!
Subcontinent yes!
However he does frustrate a bit like Hearth!
I have nothing against Threaders!
Cooky complicates my playing 11 but this is mine
1. Cook
2. Halo
3. Bell
4. Morgan
5. Moeen
6. Jos
7. Ravi
8. Stokes
9. Broad
10. Finn
11. Tredders
Yes I would leave out Root!
