Georgetown, Guyana - Greene’s Electrical and Contracting Services of Duncan Street, Georgetown has thrown its support behind the staging of the Goodwill Promotions/West Berbice Cricket Association inaugural T20 festival which is slated to start on Sunday.
Yesterday, marketing representative of the entity Niketa Jackson handed over a cheque of an undisclosed amount to organizer of the tournament Abel Seetaram. In brief remarks Jackson said that it’s pleased to be associated with the festival.
She stated that sport plays an integral part in the development of the society and helps to instill discipline in youths. According to Seetaram, various venues across West Berbice will be used so as to get the full participation of spectators. He thanked the company for its support and informed that there will be over $200,000 up for grabs.
Seetaram explained that the winning and runner teams will be receiving cash prizes and trophies, while trophies will be given to the man-of-the-series, best bowler, batsman and man-of-the-match in all the games.
It was also disclosed that there will be lots of attractions and giveaways for the fans at all the venues. An opening ceremony will be held on Sunday at Bath Sports Club ground featuring lots of cultural items.
In the opening matches at the Bath ground, Rainbow Generation CC will tackle Monedderlust CC and the hosts will face Woodley Park Goodwill Setters. At Cotton Tree, Achievers CC will play Ithaca CC and the home team will battle NO. 3 CC while at Bush Lot Community Centre the hosts will play Hopetown and Sheildstown CC will match skills with D’ Edward CC.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
