That's good synopsis of that tour. I saw most of it on PPV and in bars here in Canada.
The Indians suffered a big set back before the tour when Srinath pulled out because of injury. That left Prasad as the leader of their pace attack with Kuruvilla and Ganesh as support. Kumble and Joshi were the two spinners. That was an inexperienced attack and they struggled at times to penetrate some gritty West Indian batting at crucial moments.
A large part of their batting was also inexperienced as Dravid, Laxman, and Ganguly were all in their second year of international cricket and their first tours to the West Indies.
That tour produced some excellent cricket from both sides. But as Tendulkar wrote; there was no way they should have lost that Barbados test.
