Moeen Ali embarrassed the Indian batsmen over the summer, they looked completely out of their depth when facing him. They didn't know when to play forward or when to play off the back foot, they really struggled to judge length of deliveries. The Indian batsmen also looked clueless when playing the line of off-spin, they would move back and across while leaving their bat on the line where the ball pitched, amateur hour. Ali has a horrible first class average of 39 but India made him look like a world-beater by picking up 19 wickets at 23 on pitches that didn't even spin. Should the BCCI start sending Indian cricketers to England so they can learn the basics of facing spin bowling?
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

In Ranji Trophy "turners" are very much extinct right now. Only Chennai dishes them out when TN are in dire straits. Most of the remaining pitches are either green or dead. I really wish Indian players play in other countries to get used to the conditions. It need not necessarily be their domestic competition. 'A' tours are really nice in that respect but nowadays the pitches in those are rubbish (India A played in Australia and some bloke called Naman Ojha suddenly smashed it)

There is a point in that but there is a difference playing spin, good and very good spin, at home and away.
Especially if you take the West Indian context who play against such prolific spin at home but away, they seem hopeless.
Moeen certainly improved, beyond expectations, but what made him stand out in all areas, was his calmness. It unnerved the indians.

Harsh reality...:/
I would say we better get accustomed to those conditions to plummet our reputation back to normalcy.
Gone are those days when Indians ruled the roost in playing spin. These days they cant play either of swing or spin..
