Georgetown, Guyana - Supreme and Parika Salem emerged victorious when the Mohamed Memorial 40-over tournament continued Sunday last on the East Bank of Essequibo.
At Zeelugt, Supreme defeated the hosts by 43 runs. Supreme batted first and scored 183 before they were bowled out in 31.1 overs. Basheer Azeez stroked 106 and Ricardo Adams supported with 24. A. Bissessar snared 4-45 and G. Rampersaud 3-30. Zeelugt were bowled out for 140 in 24.2 overs. O. Shakur made 47 not out, while extras contributed 39. Safraz Ally grabbed 3-24 and Rajiv Balgobin 3-37.
At Vergenoegen, Parika Salem overcame Hyde Park by eight wickets. Batting first, Hyde Park managed 141 all out in 34.1 overs. Lennox Andrews scored 47 and Hashim Mohamed 20. Edwin Burnette grabbed 4-37 and Jimol Marks 2-15. Parika Salem responded with 142-2 in 19.1 overs. Kevon Boodie slammed 42 and Sase Narine 36. Inshan Mohamed took 1-47.
Meanwhile, Hyde Park got the better of Philadelphia by 80 runs on Saturday at Vergenoegen. Hyde Park took first strike and scored 199 all out in 25.3 overs. Safraz Karim cracked 61, Travis Drakes 46 and Lennox Andrews 35. S. Rajkumar claimed 3-18 and T. Ramnarine 2-32. Philadelphia were skittled for 119 in 29.3 overs in reply. Ramnarine scored 35 and Gowkarran Debi 35; Imtiaz Sadiq picked up 2-12 and Ashmin Mohamed 2-30. The game was reduced to 30 overs.
The competition continues on Sunday with semi-final action. Parika Salem will face Zeelugt at Vergenoegen and Hyde Park play Supreme at Parika.
