Crandon pleased but says there’s lots more work to be done

National Coach Esaun Crandon said he was satisfied with the performances of the players who participated in the Cricket Guyana Inc. (CGI) organised two-day physical assessment clinic and is optimistic that more progression is on the horizon for the other upcoming sessions ahead of this year’s regional tournaments.

The two-day camp, which concluded yesterday at the Zahif Gym in Thomas Street, Kitty, kicked off early Monday morning at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground where players underwent the Beep Test, 40m Run of Three, shuttles, running between wickets simulation and a series of cardiovascular workouts.

Yesterday’s final session saw the coaches focusing more on lengthy spells of the 4k run at the GCC ground while a good session in the gym which was done in order to help the players focus more on their physical areas.

This session was conducted under the expert eyes of gym instructors and other senior members of the gym who put the players through bench-pressing routines along with squats, leg-presses, chin-ups and other weight lifting exercises.
