Jamaica Star article.
Kingston, Jamaica - St Catherine CC manager Ephraim McLeod has hailed the start of his team in the Jamaica Cricket Association 50-Overs Championship, following their 108-run win over Clarendon at Chedwin Park on Saturday.
Led by recent national youth opener, Oraine Williams, who made 119, and captain Tamar Lambert, 79, St Catherine posted 266 for four off 50 overs.
The Saints, on the back of two wickets each from leg-spinner Odean Brown and off-spinner Pete Salmon, then returned to dismiss Clarendon for 158 off 32.3 overs to record the second win in as many matches in Zone B.
"It's good to be two from two and we are still not yet at full strength," said McLeod.
"We are still without Danza Hyatt, who was out due to the illness, Andre Russell, is playing in the Champions League Twenty20, while a couple of our players are out due to work commitments."
The victory came after St Catherine had defeated G.C. Foster by 14 runs in their first match.
It also kept them in pole position in the group following the zone's other fixture involving Manchester and St Catherine CA at Manchester High.
Manchester won the encounter by 194 runs after making 249 for seven off 43 overs, and returning to dismiss St Catherine CA for a paltry 55 off 14.5 overs.
Left-arm spinner David Powell with six for 16 led the way for the victors.
Elsewhere, surprise Zone A leaders St James were brought down back to earth following a 27- run Duckworth/Lewis loss to St Elizabeth at the Trelawny Stadium.
St Elizabeth first made 198 off 42.4 overs before returning to restrict St James to 86 for five off 27 overs when the rains came.
Also recording victory in the zone was Trelawny, who scored a nine-wicket win over Hanover at Elgin Town Community Centre.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
