What percentage of your favorite batsmen's test runs were scored in boundaries(fours and sixes) ?

EXAMPLE:

* Brian Lara hit 1559 fours and 88 sixes in his test career----that's 6264 runs in boundaries.

* Lara scored 11,953 runs in tests.

* Runs scored in boundaries by Lara = 6264/11,953 = 56.5%

CHECK OUT A FEW OTHERS

66.1% Gayle
56.5% Lara
55.1% Richards
54.3% Tendulkar
45.9% Lloyd
45.0% Chanderpaul
44.1% SWaugh
39.4% Bradman
38.2% Kanhai
38.3% Sobers

See Link for stats

stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/i...results;type=batting

OBSERVATION:

* His HATERS say all Shiv does is prod and poke, but the numbers don't lie folks. Shiv has scored a higher percentage of his runs in boundaries than Sobers, Kanhai, and Bradman . ;D hahahahaha

Ketchy:

* Hope Shiv plays another 5 years.

* The man will re-write the record books.

* And yes, he will continue to torment his HATERS .

RE: UPCPMING TOUR OF INDIA

* Shiv needs 1 hundred to equal Ponting/Richards/Sobers for most test hundreds against India----Shiv currently has 7 hundreds against India.

* I have to update the stats page over at shivisgreat.com

This even by your standards is one of the most absurd  of posts  here
What difference does make how runs are scored?.  Runs are runs

Another statistic. More byes and leg byes are given away while Chanderpaul is at the  crease

Ramesh,

Lol.  8) 8) 8)

Another one is runs scored whilst not out!

That could be interpreted in several ways when you consider the impact of those innings on winning causes.

You may also need to consider how many of those have lead to games being saved so a fourth innings analysis would add an interesting perspective.

Steve Waugh for example may be second but did so in winning causes but it does not mean to say a certain percentage of Shiv's not out did not save the Windies.

That would be a more meaningful statistic.

Jala the world knows Shiv, whatever you might want to say either provocatively or otherwise, has been the backbone of the Windies batting for the longest while.

I think the issue here is how the information is presented.

Not sure what exactly you're saying here Rammo ...

Yes there is the lack of flair of the Sobers/Lara type innings .... but as you yourself said 'runs  are runs'  8)

and of course Mail is quick to Jump on to Rammo  ::LOL::

BTW: Winning causes is a concept NOT APPLICABLE to West Indies

Calypso , only a Fool would compare Australia XI period of dominance to :

West Indies XI period of decline.

and posit a Waugh versus Chanderpaul WINS in not outs :  :P
