Former New Zealand all-rounder, who is involved in a court battle to clear his name off match-fixing, has taken up $17-an-hour job in Auckland to meet mounting legal expenses
New Zealand's former star all-rounder Chris Cairns has rolled up his sleeves to help provide for his family. Cairns is currently involved in a court battle to clear his name off match-fixing, and the mounting legal expenses have forced the 44-year-old father of four to go out into the street, quite literally, to seek work.

Well $17 an hour is more than most people make in the Caribbean so I don't see anything wrong with that. As long as it is legal then there is no problem. I hope the truth comes out in court about whether or not he is guilty of match fixing.

We have had this debate of cost
of living before, methinks. When some topic of benefits for NZ players came up.
Although not sure what to say - how'd he lose so much money altogether? I have a hard time in belieivng that he went to super rich to broke just like that.

Maybe he is trying to clear off his name from fixing, indirectly.I mean, the court would then start thinking he has no money at all and that he couldn't have possibly been involved in fixing and all that..Is that a possibility..? Just guessing.
