Dhoni finally fails in punch-out
MS Dhoni is possibly the best finisher limited-overs cricket has ever seen but he will have to answer questions after failing to trust his partner in the final over
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

@Thechairman: It was just once.Never before has he failed after taking it to the last over.it could have gone either way,but i do believe Dhoni should have trusted Rayudu much more.
had he taken that single,he might have just slogged.or got out too,but its an element of risk all the while.

Oh he's failed before alright. But his success rate far outranks 'failure' in most close matches, so there's that.

The way Raydu played last 2 balls, Dhoni was convinced that he will not be able to finish off the match as Raydu was still the new man in. But Dhoni is not the same old Dhoni anymore. He has definitely grown old now.

No,i can't seem to recollect anything in the near past at all.
Just asking..are there any stats on this too..?
Remember that last ball Six by Rayudu against KKR..?
He has played many a last overs before, but he really didn't stand a chance,at least not better than Dhoni.
Anyways...a good cricket match..and that is all we want..

Doubt it tbh. I'm too lazy to dig up either way. But I do recall this happening before. Not often, mind you. But it has happened surely.

Having hit the first ball 6 he should have welcomed the first single at least.

I reckon it could have never been in the ODI/T20 matches involving India,it must have been IPL for sure.I can remember it happening..against KX1P i guess, last year IPL maybe.
Oh yeah it isn't often that this happens. He is a great finisher, but can falter at times.

Look it was arrogance on the part of Dhoni and whilst I am pleased we won, after the first ball 6, the game was India's but for Dhoni's arrogance.

It seemed like an easy win for the Indians, but sometimes its nerves and bad choices, or maybe great bowling and you just don't make it. And that was exciting with an unpredictable end. England won in a close match, and I hope the performance of both teams for the rest of the matches are as exciting and not one sided like in the tests or the ODI's.
