Dravid linked with India mentor role

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is reported to be chasing Rahul Dravid to take on a mentoring role with the national side.

Dravid, who played for India from 1996-2012 and is the fourth-highest Test runs-scorer of all time, performed a similar, albeit less official, role with India in the lead-up to the team's 3-1 series defeat to England.

"Dravid is attached to the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming Champions League," an Indian official told the Indian Express.

"However, we have big plans for Rahul.

"We want him to be the permanent mentor of the Indian team.

"He understands these players like nobody else and the players respect him also.

I would want him as a permanent mentor for the team.He was an exceptional batsman and the younger lot could gain loads from him.He commands respect and can correct technical flaws in any batsman.
I idolize him more than sachin..because he performs always..and is technically very very sound..
BCCI should make sure they have on their radar for the coach position.

I am happy that they are getting it right finally. There is no need to foreign coaches and mentors. These guys are the ones who actually want to lift the Indian cricket.

Foreign cockroaches are a necessity only if the cricketing geniuses i nthe country aren't worthwhile.India being a place full of talents and legends,there doesn't occur a need for foreign coaches.So now that Ketchim stah has replied positively..BCCI will now be forced to make Dravid the mentor..Such is the power of ketchim..bad humour eh..??
