Brathwaite aims to conquer spin attack

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC - West Indies cricketer Kraigg Brathwaite says he is hard at work seeking to improve his ability to conquer spin bowling after achieving a batting milestone in Barbados.

The 22 year old Barbadian batsman says his current work ethic forms part of his plans to cement his spot on the regional side.

Some West Indies cricketers have often faced criticism for their batting performances against the spinners.

“I know I will never be perfect, but I am still working very hard,” declared Brathwaite in an interview with Barbados Today.

“I have been doing a lot of work against the spinners trying to play them as best as I can. I am trying to be more confident. Also my defence is quite good now”.

Brathwaite recently became the first player to score six hundreds in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Sagicor Cup 50-Over Tournament.

He went past the five each scored by former Spartan, Barbados and West Indies opener Philo Wallace,  the Windward Islands and University of the West Indies’ Romel Currency and Barbados and West Indies batsman Dwayne Smith.
