Amen.

It will be interesting to see where he goes from here.

He had a good ride on the gravy train but I would be amazed even if a league club engages him.

Gibson did a lot of good for the West Indian team. I wonder who will be the one to replace him now? It is not the ideal preparation before a series but i guess the West Indian team is used to such disruptions now. I hope they absolutely smash Bangladesh in the upcoming series.

Are you serious???  Gibbo's departure is not a moment too soon ....... he should've been gone after one contract!!!

What lot of good did he do for WI?  One World T20 win in 2012 did not warrant his paycheck.  He should be paying back some of that US$300,000 per annum to the West Indies public .......plus I'm sure he negotiated a handsome payout on his contract  >:(

'During his time as head coach, West Indies won nine of 36 Tests and won four Test series - two against Bangladesh and one against Zimbabwe' plus all the shenanigans he caused within the team especially with the senior players.

I will assume for the purposes of civility you are compos mentis. But I am not sure we are talking about the same Gibson

My question is what good did Gibson do?

What I have observed is he
1.  Alienated senior players. Later having had to retract and appease Shiv.
2.  He dropped Shiv prematurely from the ODI team which subsequently did worse.
3.  Was a key factor and significantly contributed to the premature demise of Sarwan
4.  Was part of the Cabal that alienated Gayle, the latter to be recalled later.
5.  Was a supporter and promoter of surrounding himself with mediocrity, as he was himself, not least having a Captain who did not merit his place in any descipline apart from fielding.
6.  The T20 title, for me, is no achievement as any fool on their day can win as it neither requires no technique nor descipline!
7.  As a so called bowling coach he made no difference to the bowlers. In fact Roach became more erratic with his no ball problems and many injuries.
8.  He was also a media whore, like Hillaire, especially at the start of his tenure.
9.  He clearly had no views of his own and was a blatant yes man.
10. He has no integrity, having dragged the region's cricket to a new low, to leave at least 2 years ago when he should have known he could not help Windies.
11. Alienated fans....
12. I am sure others have many to add to the list....

So I would really like to know what good he did.....please?

how good, useful, relevant etc...is a position in anything when it allows a complete incompetent like Otis Gibson to many multiples of what anyone else makes in the game as direct cricket salary?

and no one notices :o :o :o

it is the same with Duncan Fletcher, a man whose visage patrolling the practice field or on the sidelines, hands behind his back like a latter day Napoleon...reveals who is but an arsehole, same like Gibson, totally incompetent.

not one of the head coaches (HC) I have even seen in cricket has been anything but incompetent and disruptive..including Greg Chappell and Viv Richards.

their leading lights were Gus Logie,Andy Roberts, possibly Kanhai, and And Flower.  admittedly small.. Logie and Roberts lights continue to shine..Kanhai in some quarters. But Flower who promised much, at least from the HC angle crashed and burned ignominiously..an awful sight indeed

in some moment of clear collective insanity the ICC and the collective cricket nations decided to impose this asshole, pointless position on the game..head coach (HC) at once too expensive and redundant.

the coaches function was adequately split between the captain and manager...men usually both far more competent people than the type of HC that has emerged...men made competent by training and experience, and without the all powerful and dangerous ego of the HC, who usually has no real experience atat cricket or management of anything at all..his power based on the terms of reference of the HC position, which concentrates all the power at that point..in the hands of the HC

pure naked insanity is what it is..and greed..that is responsible for this mal-administration at the top of the game.  the skunts and dem have visions of baseball sugar plums in their heads looking for a short repetititive form of the game they can sell to the world, that is at once plentiful-hundreds of games per year.. and generative of huge profits at the gate, from advertising and from ownership of franchises that would grow in value exponentially, like the baseball franchises in the USA.

I mean they have even created and literally call the player spot or location on the sidelines "DUGOUT" to replicate the name of that place in baseball.

how disgusting...exposing their intent and greed at the same time.  they have planned and now effecting a plan to gut cricket's of its essence in trade for money..by substituting a forrin game in its place.  they are going to replicate baseball and it will fail for we already have baseball in the world.

and that is certainly one reason they have chosen to impose the ridiculous and extraneous position of HC on cricket
