A pugnacious half-century from opener Andrew Lyght Jr., steered the Vishal Singh XI to 188 for 5 in their first innings against the Paul Wintz XI on day one of the Demerara Cricket Board Senior 3-day trial match played at the Everest Ground.
The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) player smoked eight fours and a six in his top score of 54, finding support from fellow opener Shemroy Barrington who played well for his 32. Other contributions came from Deonarine Seegobin (34) and the skipper Singh who was his usual gritty self, managing three fours in his patient 75-ball 24.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
