It's too bad that Vince has been out of form recently. I am not convinced on Robson being a Test-quality opener. It's good to see Bairstow still in the runs though it looks as though he is going to be on the outside looking in for the time being.
Looking at those bowling figures makes me wish England can find a way to clone Jimmy and Broad.

The Kiwi youth team has been on a roll lately, although this match was a more among the reserves rather than just the youngsters. in a way it was a better match as some of the players had international experience and so the youngsters can learn from them. Bairstow and Brownlie were the two stand out players in the match and this was no surprise really. Those two are on the fringe of international come backs.

I think Bairstow can consider himself a little unfortunate not to have been given the nod over Buttler but given the way Buttler has performed in his first two Tests it may be a while before Bairstow plays for England again, especially given that they don't play any Tests until April of next year. He is still only 24.
