Masters XI vs Presidents XI

Former Guyana and West Indies cricketer Clayton Lambert has been named captain of the Masters’ IX

that will play against a President’s IX :in the Guyana Festival cricket match to be staged

on August 9, 2014 ; at the Guyana National Stadium. 

           

Guyana Times caught up with prolific West Indies batsmen ;

Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan   :-*

Chanderpaul said the Festival Cricket will be an opportunity of a lifetime.

“It would be really excited to look at these players who would have played for Guyana

and the West Indies… so I am hoping that persons come out and have some fun.”

Chanderpaul, who would be representing the President’s IX, said,

“Hopefully, they (Masters) don’t hit too much so that we can get them in the end.”  ::LOL::

His colleague, Sarwan said he was “pretty excited to be part” of the match :

as he is given yet another opportunity to make Guyana proud.

“I think it is very unique because you normally don’t get sports in these types of activities,

but in Guyana we love our sport ::love::

and so I think it is a great vision.”

ABC ‘Rising Star’ Lisa Punch will be joining the festivities as curtains raise

on the much-anticipated inaugural Guyana Festival —

Sound, Soul and Taste.
