New Zealand off-spinner Kane Williamson has been suspended from bowling due to an illegal action, the International Cricket Council has announced.
Williamson, a part-time bowler, was reported after New Zealand's Test against the West Indies in Trinidad last month, in which he took one wicket while bowling 15.2 overs as the West Indies won by 10 wickets.
His action was analysed at Cardiff Metropolitan University, resulting in his suspension.
"The analysis revealed that most of his deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations," an ICC statement said.
Although Williamson's primary role with New Zealand is as a No. 3 batsman, the 23-year-old said he was committed to refining his action in order to be able to contribute to the bowling again in the future.
"I note the findings of Dr Craig Ranson and his team at Cardiff Met and will concentrate on changing whatever's necessary to return to the bowling crease," Williamson told New Zealand Cricket's website.
"Clearly, the onus is on me to satisfy assessors as to the legality of my action, and I'm aware I have some hard work in front of me to achieve that goal.
"It's never nice, going through this sort of process but it will be worth it if I can manage to bowl again at international level."
Black Caps coach Mike Hesson added: "Kane's disappointed, clearly - anyone in his situation would feel the same way.
"He now has a challenge on his hands if he's to bowl again at the top level, but we're very hopeful he can manage it."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Its good to see that West Indies bowlers are not the only targets by the icc. Williamson should stick to batting as bowling his not his strong point. I hope other bowlers who are throwing will also have their action reviewed.
