Colin Borde has resigned as manager of the T&T cricket team citing personal and professional reasons for his decision. Borde revealed yesterday: “I have met with the president of the T&T Cricket Board (T&TCB), Azim Bassarath and I have indicated to him that I wish to move on to other things at this point in time.†Borde also revealed that he has applied for the vacant post of West Indies manager. “I have applied for the post of West Indies manager and I am hopeful that things work out. “If not, I have a business to run at this point in time and after consultation with my family, I thought it best to demit the position of manager of the T&T team.â€
With Borde as manager of the T&T team they won two regional 50 overs titles, was runners up in the WICB Challenge Trophy in 2008, winners of the Stanford Super Series in 2008 and runners-up in the Champions trophy tournament in India in 2009. It is understood that Borde is the front runner for the post of West Indies manager and has been short-listed with two other people for the post. Borde was a member of the ANSA McCAL Group of companies for the last 16 years. He managed the San Fernando Branch of ANSA Automotive for the Honda , Ford , Land Rover and Jaguar Brands. He also holds a commercial pilot’s license. In cricket he attained a West Indies accredited Level 1 Coaching Certificate and is an executive member of Queen’s Park Cricket Club and also a former executive member of the T&TCB.
Among his experience as a cricket administrator is cricket committee member for QPCC (13 ) years and for  six (6) years on the T&TCB. He is former chairman of the National Cricket League. He is on the  WICB Marketing Committee and brings considerable marketing and managerial skills to these organisations. Borde has also hosted “AT The Wicket†for TV 6 as a cricket analyst for  the ICC World Cup held in the Caribbean in 2007. He was also a cricket analyst  on the recently concluded World T20 coverage. Now he is focussing his energies on his real estate business called House Hunters T&T.
