The national Under-17 cricket team can spoil the Windward Islands chances of lifting the West Indies Cricket Board Tobago House of Assembly Regional U-17 50-over title today in the final round in Tobago.
Defending champions T&T has only won one of its four matches and currently lie fifth (six points) on the six-team standings ahead of Leeward Islands (1.5 points). Each team earns six points for a win and .1 points for each wicket taken by a fast bowler.
T&T, led by Bryan Boodram will face current leaders Windward Islands today at Bon Accord. The Windwards are on 19.2 points hanging on to slim lead over second placed Jamaica, which is on 18.5 points. Barbados and Guyana are both on 13.4 points and are sill in with a chance of winning the round-robin tournament.
Yesterday in a rescheduled first round match Jamaica defeated Leeward Islands by six wickets at Shaw Park to move to second place. Brad Barnes struck an unbeaten 105 as Jamaica chased down a competitive 256, getting to 257/4 in 48.2 overs. Earlier, Leeward Islands posted 255/7 behind 79 not out from Kofi James. The teams did not feature in the first round because the Leeward Islands did not receive their luggage on arrival in Tobago and Jamaica arrived in Tobago after the first round was completed.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
