Shiv is like the Yankee short stop Derek Jeter. They are both 40 years old and both have aged with grace. They have also both remained highly productive in their respective sport.
* At age 40 Shiv is the best batsman in the West Indies and still ranks among the best in the world.
* To date Shiv has played in 157 tests. He has scored 11,499 runs at an average of 52.26 with 29 hundreds and 64 fifties.
* SHIV BEST YEARS ARE STILL AHEAD OF HIM IN TESTS.

Why am i not surprised?? This guy has the capacity to go on and on..his hunger for runs is really insatiable. unfortunately though all his runs and records will be viewed from a point of view of longevity rather than outstanding skill.

* Those who respect and admire Shiv will always perceive him to be an outstanding cricketer who achieved great success. On the other hand, his detractors will manufacture reasons to discredit his achievements.

Rev,
302-9 if Bangla get a few more runs do you think Shiv should open to get a treasured not out?

Mail:
* Shiv already has the world record for most NOT OUTS by a front line batsman, so no need for a "cheap" NOT OUT. ;D
* By the way Mail, did you know that 34 of Shiv's 47 NOT OUTS have been in scores over fifty ?
* By the way, That's another Shiv world record. ;D

What a world record that would be remembered at the top of records in teh annals of Cricket.
Wow that is some record and what were the strike rates of these 34 not outs?
Any this is enough of trivial conversation.
I just think you demean the great man's achievements with this emphasis on nondescript events.
BTW another cheap not out would consolidate his world record...no?
DAMN SHIV IS NOT OPENING!!!

he has won the right and the respect to call it off on his own.he knows when his body is not able to cope up with the stress and the hardships of test cricket.
may he break a few records before he retires..He can finish on a high..
