Even at 40 Shiv is the most reliable and committed batsmen out there. And he has always given his best performances be it an ODI, Test or even a T20. Its really great to see him still playing and batting like the way he is now, truly awesome.

And IDK why he should either. He still is the backbone of the test side IMO. Go Shiv!

Shiv is 40 years old and still going well so I don't see why he should go now. I see him playing at the top level for least two more years. Shiv is always reliable and he is the backbone of the West Indies test batting.

* Shiv is fitter and healthier than ever, and very importantly he is still ranked among the Top 6 batsmen in the world.
* Shiv has made it clear that he still has goals to achieve in test cricket and will continue playing if selected.
* Shiv is currently playing in his 157th test. Who knows he may have his sight on Tendulkar's 200.
BOTTOM LINE:
* As long as Shiv continues to be passionate and enthusiastic about his cricket, as long as he continues to be fit, and as long as he continues to perform with distinction, Shiv should keep playing test cricket.

I have to agree with you here. Although he is aging very fast now, he is still scoring runs more than other Windies batsman. So I don't see why he should retire right now. He should play as long as he can spot the red and white ball.
