Colombo: Hashim Amla's 13th century in one-day international and a 151-run stand with captain AB de Villiers led South Africa to a convincing 75-run win in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Amla scored 109 including eight boundaries to take the Proteas to 304 for 5 in 50 overs after electing to bat first at R. Premadasa Stadium.
Legspinner Imran Tahir took three wickets while seamers Ryan Mclaren, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel took two wickets each to dismiss Sri Lanka for 229 in the 41st over.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

He is one run machine..and do not forget what ABD too did in this win..He looked excellent since the moment he came out to bat and that partnership with Amla took the game away from the lankans. If they wrap up the second one too,it will be a historic series victory..

Aaand Amla's back in the mix of things! Great stuff. Been a while since he scored an ODI ton init
Well paced innings albeit being a bit lucky. Excellent support by AB and the lower order too. SA looking overall pretty good.
I thought SL might chase it down tbh - they screwed it up. it was like 6 wickets in hand and <140 needed of 20 overs. Your basic T20 stuff. But meh.
