* Well, THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE
* Ashwin has nailed Shiv 4 times in 4 tests.
* Kaneira nailed Shiv 6 times in 7 matches.
* Shiv is solid against quicks but has some weakness against spinners whenever he chooses to be too cautious and defensive against them.

* When a batsman is too cautious or too defensive or too timid against a world class spinner, that spinner will eventually nail him.
* Caution pays dividends against quicks, but world class spinners will eventually devour a batsman who is overly cautious.
* The great players of spin bowling were dominant against spinners----Lara never chooked and blocked and pushed his pads in the way like Shiv.
BOTTOM LINE:
* Shiv has great numbers---he will end up with more test runs than Lara ;D ---but he will never stand on the same platform as Lara when it comes to batsmanship.
* TIMIDITY AND CAUTIOUSNESS AND POKING----that's not what the ELITE/EXTRAORDINARY GREATS did----they were BOLD and AUDACIOUS---especially against spinners.
