How many of you know that Shiv Chanderpaul is Ravichandran Ashwin's bunny ?
Ravichandran Ashwin 6-47 vs West Indies 1st Test 2011
* The numbers don't lie folks.
CHECK THIS:
*
In the last 6 times Shiv Chanderpaul has been dismissed against India, off spinner Ravichandra Ashwin has taken his wicket 4 times. It is crystal clear that Shiv has been having problems navigating the wily Indian spinner.
HERE ARE SHIV'S DISMISSALS BY ASHWIN
2011: shiv lbw ashwin 47
2011: shiv lbw ashwin 4
2013: shiv b ashwin 36
2013: shiv lbw ashwin 41
* 3 times ashwin has dismissed Shiv LBW---1 time he comprehensively bowled him.
CONCLUSION:
*
It is crystal clear, Shiv Chanderpaul is Ravichandran Ashwin's bunny. Shiv has had problems navigating the wily Indian off spinner.
* We recently saw Shiv flummoxed by NZ leggie Sodhi---he was out twice LBW---not offering a shot----and then he was stumped for the first time in 156 tests off another spinner---Craig.
* Anyway, WI will be touring India later this year
Shiv better do a hawan or jhandi or pooja---because Ashwin will likely continue to torment him.
* Now if Shiv stops playing with his pads and starts playing the spinner with his bat---he may stop being Ashwin's bunny.

Once again---did you folks know the Shivster was Ravichandran's Ashwin's BUNNY.

By the way, the lead post is not a criticism of Shiv. It's just an observation.
I believe if Shiv could make a few minor adjustments, he would be able to cope better against Ashwin.
I recall his last dismissal by Ashwin---Shiv was playing positively on 41----then he decided to play forward to Ashwin and hide his bat behind his pad----the umpire sent him packing.
Great players of spin bowling like Lara and kali never hid their bat behind their pad---or didn't use their pads to block balls----they were very positive when they played the ball.
Shiv needs to look at some videos of Lara and learn the art of playing spin bowling from the master
it is never too late to learn.

* It's a good thing Batty didn't out Shiv 4 times like Ashwin did or else people might be calling Shiv a Batty man. ;D hahahahaha

* Despite his having trouble navigating the wily Ravichandran Ashwin, the fact remains Shiv Chanderpaul has scored 11,414 runs in 156 tests at an average of 51.88 with 29 100s and 63 50s.
* Even the greatest of the greats have troubles with some bowlers. Brian Lara, for example, was dismissed 15 times by Glen McGrath in tests.
* And as great as Lara was against spinners, Warner dismissed him 7 times in tests; Kumble got him 5 times.
BACK TO SHIV:
* The bowler who has dismissed him the most times was spinner Anil Kumble---7 times---in 15 matches
* Spinner Danish Kaneria dismissed Shiv 6 times in 7 matches
* Spinner Ashwin has dismissed Shiv 4 times in 4 matches.
EXPECTATION:
* In the upcoming 3 tests in India---it is safe to expect Ashwin to nail Shiv at least 3 times in the 3 tests.

I never knew that Shivnarine Chanderpaul had problems with specific bowlers. Ashwin is a good spinner and Chanderpaul is a good player of spin so maybe it was just coincidence or Ashwin has figured out a way to get Chanderpaul out. I know that Chris Gayle had problems with specific bowlers such as Kumar from India but I didn't expect a batsman Shiv to.
