As I have stated in another post, The New Zealand team has improved for the past few years but I am not convinced they can constantly beat the top teams in cricket. I am not impressed by a series win over the West Indies because most teams in the top 6 would have also defeated the current West Indies team.

Funny title - how could they "pretend" to win anyway?
Regardless of where the go from here, their current achievement still stands.
Now second of all, I do think they've improved a LOT. Not perfect, but their team has gotten significantly better. Perhaps not "world beaters" but certainly they're progressing the right direction. Their pacers are amongst the best at present, they have Williamson, Taylor, Watling et al to provide good base and new players like Neesham chipping in. So overall looking good for them, I'd say.

It's not about beating the west Indies team, that gives rise to such a talk. The way they thrashed them and showed some discipline in all forms of the game, gives us an impression that they might well be world beaters. They have 2 bowlers in the Top 10 list,Williamson,Taylor and Neesham are all moving forward at great pace. They deserve a better ranking than what they are at now.Maybe a notch higher..?

Kiwis are neither world beaters nor pretenders at this present time .......
However they are IMO future contenders if they continue on what appears to be a solid foundation !!!
