OK Folks:

* The question many are asking is this: Was the West Indies win against New Zealand in Trinidad a deviation from the normal ? Was it just an anomaly ?

* Can the #8 ranked West Indies win 2 tests in a row against the higher ranked New Zealand(#6) ?

* The WI went from 196/2 to 317 all out in their first innings at Kensington.

* And they will be batting last on a bowler friendly Kensington wicket on day 5.

* The highest successful run chase at Kensington was 311/9 versus Australia----Lara 153*

* A WI WIN WOULD BE GREAT FOR WI CRICKET.

* It would mean they could aspire to one day be ranked #5 or #6.

* A DEFEAT and WI cricket will remain in the toilet.

* We'll have answers in a few sessions.

There is a missing score in Wagner's music sheet :

The 23 runs Lead is not C minor  ;)

OK! Let's say NZ makes 300

That would be a lead of 276

QUESTION:

Can WI score 276 for victory ?

They scored 216 batting last at Sabina.

Wagner is right---250 may very well be a winning score for NZ
250 means WI will need 226.

BUT MIRACLES DO HAPPEN. And Ramo's windies may very well pull off a miracle.

We are still rooting for the West Indies to win.

But there is nothing wrong with discussing the probability of a WI win in the Kensington test.

NZ 167/4---a lead of 143

Right now the probability favors a NZ victory.

BUT ODDS WILL CHANGE AS THE MATCH PROGRESS.

* The Kensington wicket remains a good one on day 4.

* It's not playing any tricks.

* Infact it's still good for batting.

* NZ 183/4

NEW ZEALAND'S LAST 3 SCORES

221---1st innings Trinidad

331---2nd innings Trinidad

293---1st innings Barbados

==============

CURRENT SCORE

NZ 193/4( Williamson 91*, Neesham 34*)

* Given NZ's previous 3 scores----one can easily anticipate that they will easily surpass 300*

the Titty win was a good one on the field. but what it succeeded in doing apparently was to jack knife west indian administrative thinking straight back to the days when were champions and could do anything at all on the field of play.

given our true state at cricket right now what we had to do was to consolidate.  we are a weak number  7/8 team that must build into top class.  we cant be doing crazy crap like dropping Gabe and Blackwood and experimenting with Holder and Shilly

CONSOLIDATION OF GAINS..BUILDING UP A TEAM OF CLASS.  THAT IS OUR NEED RIGHT NOW.  WE ARE NO LONGER CHAMPIONS

I THINK WE HAVE TO CLEAN ADMINISTRATIVE HOUSE OF ALL AND EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP YEARS, NOT BLINKERED BY THAT EXPERIENCE..GET NEW WEST INDIAN BLOOD UP IN THERE UNFETTERED BY  OLD GLORY SO THEY CAN SEE WHAT'S NEEDED TO BE DONE AND ARE FREE, UNENCUMBERED BY ANY PREVIOUS DAZE.. TO DO IT

He has given his service as an honest and wholehearted performer and would leave with my heartfelt thanks for his contribution.
