Mr. Jatin Patel, Second Vice president of United States Youth Cricket Association, praised the Minnesota Cricket Association for doing a great job to promote and encourage the youth cricketers. Mr. Patel recently visited Minnesota to attend MCA 2014 spring festival in partnership with the RNXT.COM from May 2 to 6.
In a statement Mr. Jatin Patel said “since last year when, MCA President Prashanth Upadrashta has given the youth program top priority for the cricket in Minnesota, MCA administration and their volunteer coaching team has done great job to keep momentum going in right direction. With dedicated lead coach Charles Peterson, youth cricket program is expected to be more efficient in few years."
Minnesota Cricket Association since 1975 is looking forward for the youth and women cricket development in Minnesota.
The MCA hosted 2014 spring festival in partnership with the RNXT.COM, which consisted of cultural performances and musical show by local artists, and all proceeds go towards Youth cricket development in Minnesota gained strong support from all local communities.
Former West Indian skipper and cricket legend Alvin Kallicharran who was also member of both WI World championship teams (1975 & 79) and Jatin Patel were the chief guests for the event.
Day after main fundraiser - festival event, MCA organized youth cricket coaching camp with Alvin Kallicharran and Jatin Patel with interactive training to many local coaches to train local youth cricket players to build teams for the future.
Mr. Charles Peterson overseas local youth program, which is rapidly growing with the many trained coaches and plan to launch local league / tournament for the youths.
MCA’s youth programs kicks off with the last year’s event when MCA hosted Jatin Patel, who conducted cricket session for youths and coaches as MCA Youth cricket initiative with free cricket kits from USYCA.
Last year Mr. Patel had met MCA President Prashanth Upadrashta, Charles Peterson (MCA Cricket Development) and Sandeep Hirekerur (MCA Corporate Affairs), Narsi Murthy and Rajesh Kumar (MCA team manager), They discussed the development of youth cricket. The MCA showed interest in particular to leverage Patel's experience and insights in getting cricket into Minnesota schools.
Mr. Patel conducted a training session with the coaches and youngsters. He stressed the importance of fundamentals, age and level-specific coaching, and cricket exercises to ensure that the youths have fun and want to come.
The youth cricket coaching camp session ended with group pictures and Certificate of participation to all youth which were signed by Alvin Kallicharran, Jatin Patel and Prashanth Upadrashta all groups (coaches, youths, and Jatin Patel) and vowing to continue the relationship to develop youth cricket in Minnesota.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Alvin now lives in the USA and working with kids all over. Holding joined him during a few sessions not so long ago.
