I don't think Narine has that much "deception" when it comes to going on the attack. He's hard to score of runs with his variations, sure. That doesn't mean it would translate well in tests though, as in wicket taking sense.
Don't get me wrong, I still do think he should certainly be in the squad and perhaps in the team given there's a spot for 2 spinners - but people assume way too much based on his limited overs bowling IMO.

Can we just stop crucifying Narine for staying with IPL?
You would have a better case if WI refused to give him NOC and asked him to stand back and he still went.
He had a choice, and leaving a team midway, being their star bowler, isn't ethical either. Why would you think that it is? This isn't war, and he earns a good living off IPL - so of course he's gotta be loyal to them
The fuck up here is entirely by WICB.

* No one is crucifying Narine.
* He made a decision that he believed was best for himself and his IPL team.
* The WICB chose to be vindictive and omit him from the test series.
* The WI has now won a test match in Narine's backyard, and if they win the test series Narine can forget about playing tests for the West Indies.
* Benn took 4 wickets in the first test and 5 wickets in the 2nd test. He deserves to keep playing.
* GOOD LUCK TO NARINE IN T20s and ODI's.

the last time Narine played the Kiwi he took a lot of wickets....
Narines bowling has already translated well into test cricket. I am not worried. he is the coming bowler not Shilly unfortunately. he shud play now before Shilly. in a short while Narine will be as good or better than Shilly was in tests

I wanna agree that Narine cannot BOWL 49 overs on the Trot
Benn can.

Ostracizing Sarwan , omitting Narine , dissin Shiv (kicking him out if ODI's) now tell me with a straight face that the West Indies management don't have it in for Indians

* But they picked Ramdin as their captain. ;D lol
* Oh well, at least Shiv is still in the test team----he remains the best batsman in the West Indies---and the 3rd ranked batsman in the world.
* Narine is ranked #3 in the world in ODIs and #2 in T20s
* Sarwan's days are over.

Sars and Rampaul got fat on carbohydrates. Selectors like their Indians skinny and eatting Chow Mein.
Was a white man who dropped Narine.
No decent Indian batsmen waiting in the wings.
3 decent Indian spinners competing for Benn/Shilly's spot, and all 3 get heavy play in WI odi and t20 games.
