West Indies made a strong start in their quest to level the three-Test series against New Zealand as Jerome Taylor and Sulieman Benn helped skittle the Black Caps on day one at the Queen’s Park Oval.
Pace bowler Taylor took 4-34 and Benn claimed 3-73 as the tourists collapsed after the tea interval to post just 221 all out on the opening day of the second Test.
But the Black Caps did end a disappointing day on a high with the key wicket of Chris Gayle as West Indies closed on 6-1 at the start of their reply.
Fresh from their victory in Jamaica last week, New Zealand started well with the bat after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
Left-handed opener Tom Latham maintained his fine form with a resolute 82 and shared a century partnership with Kane Williamson after Hamish Rutherford had edged Taylor to Gayle at slip at the start of the ninth over.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

I am not going to get excited for this as i believe the kiwis have it in them to uproot the entire line up in a day.If Benn is able to extract some good turn and bounce on day 1,look at what craig and sodhi can do.They have already done it once.
I was particularly impressed with Gabriel, some incisive bowling.Good job by both Taylor and benn, but do the windies have it in them to go past this total or will they fold up quickly..??
