I didn't see Shiv and Ramdin bat today. Friend of mine said they cheated Chanders out. True? He also said both batted too slow given the circumstances.
Looking at the scorecard, it seemed that certainly Ramdin should have upped the strike rate and batted faster (his SR was in the 40s). Was he playing selfishly for himself? If I was captain, given the match situation, I would lash balls, make a quick 30 and then start bowling at NZ as soon as possible.

your friend need to get a reality check! Ramdin batted well. He had a youngster at the other end. The WI wanted to bat out and so they did. While there was a sense of urgency (as normal) when Ramdin came in, there was no indication that the plan was to score quickly.
Second, Shiv was not cheated...he was out...like a damn dunce!

Non Shiv was correctly adjudged lbw on appeal by NZ, very much like Jamaica. Quite silly really.
Ramdin probably score 32 in 32 until Blackwood was caught in the slips. Then I think he was trying to usher the tail although I did not see the post Blackwood period.
Fact is you are in a winning position.

Thanks for the clarification. Hope to see some highlight footage soon.

Craig to Chanderpaul, SIX, hello, Chanderpaul skips out of the crease, he is not to the pitch, it is spinning away from him, but he goes through with the shot, hasn't really got hold of it, bit it clears the long off boundary in the end

Yeah I think he got a bit defensive when he was with tail. In retrospect we could say a lot of things, but he did come out as aggressive, that's the crucial point to note.

Blackwood 50 on deboo! Cool. Seems like everyone's impressed too
And yes, in a winning position now. Would be interesting to see what NZ can do here. I mean they CAN bat out a day if they want to. But WI does have significant upper hand at this point.

This thread is so random - why'd you post commentary in a thread titled "Narine sitting with team" cappo? Or am I missing something here?
Narine could've had lot of fun here on day 5 though.

Windies in a winning position right now. They just need to do one thing. Not allowing the NZ batsmen to put up something solid. This 166 run lead at end of day 3 should spur the windies on to be more incisive with their bowling.
The bowlers can keep bowling at the same pace like they did for those 40 odd overs. This increases pressure and if you try to attack and get out, simple concept, but should be put to good use.

@Kyle : I was baffled when then there was nothing pertinent to the thread title.Maybe The chairman want us to post about it,for a change..
The pitch is yet to open up and its too early to talk about spin on day 5.Maybe since this is his home ground,he could have known it better.
