By god these people are stupid .
Soil is pretty much the came the world over and the importation of soil will make no difference whatsoever.
I could have told them that pitches in tropical countries are flatter than those in temperate countries because of many factors .
Atmospheric conditions is one but the most important factor is acceleration due to gravity
Gravitational forces are slightly stronger in the tropics and as such the bounce would not be that great and therefore pitches would tend to be lower and slower.
I haven't yet figured out how the earth's magnetic field would also have an effect

It is a shame that India has not been able to win test matches which are played abroad. Also that their conditions are favourable only to them is not fair. Most teams who visit India are not given exclusive time on the pitch and such, thus making the hosts more stronger and aware of the playing turf which make them score. Think of the last time India lost a home match.

What? Could you elaborate on how that works? I don't think the acceleration due to gravity has much role to play in the nature of pitch. Perhaps atmospheric conditions, that's another thing re: swing. Even if there is something significant like that, you could correct for that and compensate. Pitches are flat in India because they WANT it to be flat without an inch of grass.
Even in Oz, Adelaide is super flat - for eg.
