Big-hitting Australian opener David Warner has withdrawn from a tri-series in Zimbabwe citing fatigue and a desire to spend time with his partner before their child is born.
Warner, currently playing in a lucrative Indian Twenty20 tournament, says he's tired after the Ashes sweep of England, a test tour to South Africa and the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh, and he's grateful that Cricket Australia suggested he skip the limited-overs series in August against Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The 27-year-old left-hander says in a blog released by Cricket Australia that he and Candice Falzon have a child due in September, "so it's fantastic to be able to have that time off."
Warner said he'd be available for the series against Pakistan in October.
